The audience chose KRÍSA to advance to the finals, while the judges chose Sameheads.

The bands Bí Bí & Joð, chosen by the audience, and Sóðaskapur, selected by the judging panel, advanced to the finals.
First night of the Music Experiments
Two bands made it through to the finals: Kusk, chosen by the judges, and Ókindarhjarta, chosen by the audience.

Music Experiments are currently celebrating their 40th anniversary. The competition started in 1982 and is one of the oldest music festivals and competitions in Iceland.
