Music Experiments are now celebrating their 40th anniversary. The competition started in 1982 and is one of the oldest music festivals and competitions in Iceland. This well-established music festival is well known within the industry, as many successful musicians and industry professionals have participated in the competition at some point. In fact, about 1,670 bands have participated in the Music Experiments over the last forty years, or about 8,350 people! The festival is a springboard for young musicians where they get the opportunity to play in good conditions, meet other musicians and try to win a grand prize that can help them in their musical journey.
