The Hotbox is a practical class about the music industry offered by Music City, Hitt Húsið, and Export Music Iceland, for the bands that reach the finals of the Music Experiments. This year's Hotbox group is a magnificent collection of young and emerging musicians, proof that the future is indeed bright for Icelandic music!
The aim of The Hotbox is to empower young musicians taking their first steps in the music industry through lectures, panel discussions, and hands-on projects.
Participants receive assistance with marketing, promotion, creating promo packs, guidance in financial management of a music project, solving technical issues with professionals, and more. There is also a focus on strengthening the participants' network within the Icelandic music industry with well-known guest speakers.
The class concludes with a harvest concert and a networking event at Iðnó where the bands perform for key figures from the Icelandic music scene.
