Nir-vana, No comment, Pax romania, Röndótta regnhlífin, Saktmóðigur, Strigaskór nr. 42, Trassarnir, Víbrar, and Þörungarnir.

Did You Know?

• This year, the majority of bands that competed were death metal bands.

• The judging panel ensures worthy bands advance to the semi-finals (otherwise the audience decides).

• The radio station Stjarnan covers the competition and broadcasts live from the finals.

• 1st place wins 30 hours at Sýrland studio, 2nd place wins 25 hours at Hljóðmúrinn. The music schools Nýi tónlistarskólinn and Tónskóli Eddu Borg select the most promising guitar and keyboard players and offer courses as prizes.

• 600 people attended the finals.

• Skífan record store offered a gift certificate for third-place and the opportunity to have a song included on a compilation album.

• Hlynur A. Vilmarsson (TRABANT) won the award for the most promising keyboard player and was offered a course as a prize.
