Did You Know?
- Vök was the first duo to win the Music Experiments in its thirty-year history. The band was formed just one month before the competition and had never played publicly before stepping onto the stage at Silfurberg in Harpa.
- Vök participated in projects organized by the Stage Europe Network and played at music festivals in France and the Netherlands. The band Kjurr was also selected to participate in the project in the Netherlands and the members became acquainted there, with Einar later joining Vök. Einar and Klement from Kjurr later became famous in the band Hatari.
- The band Kaleo competed that year at the Music Experiments and advanced to the final night. Shortly after, the band took off and achieved great success both domestically and internationally.
- Hafsteinn Þráinsson won the award for best guitarist for the second time, having also received the award in 2011 with the band Postartica.
